Do you have Google Drive installed? My computer started doing this as well, and uninstalling Google Drive fixed the issue.

Here's the disscusion I found. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5261896?answerId=22814833022#22814833022

And the instructions for uninstalling Google Drive. https://support.google.com/drive/answer/2375081?hl=en (However you may need to go to Activity Monitor and kill the Google Drive proccess before you can delete the application)

Dear All,

I know this is an old discussion, but it happens to me and it's frickin' annoying. I have uninstalled G-Drive completely and behavior did not stop. I do not know what else to do, I even uninstalled all other Google product, Chrome, Earth etc.

Hardware: MacBookPro (13-inch, Mid 2010), CPU: 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, RAM: 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB.
