Finder Flashing?

Hi!

My finder started flashing recently and keeps rebooting my finder windows. Also when it flashes, my entire desktop goes blank and then reappears. Not to mention when I'm in a different space on my computer it shoots me back to the first space. I looked all over the forum and found some solutions about safe booting, repairing utilities and then seeing if its fixed. That didn't work for me. I also found some instructions about using terminal to delete any stuck files in your trash. That didn't work either. So I'm a little lost as to what to do. Over the summer (July) I replaced my harddrive so I'm really hoping its not a harddrive issue.. Help?

MacBook Pro (15-inch 2.53 GHz), OS X Mavericks (10.9)

My finder has just started doing this as well. I also tried the earlier instructions but they haven't fixed it. I am on Mavericks on a 2011 Mac Mini.

I solved it! I searched finder flashing and mavercks and someone today posted about the exact same issue. It seems that the issue is google drive. So i used my handy application deleter and got rid of it. no more issues!! hope this helps you guys

Problem just started for me. I'm on 2012 MBP retina with Mavericks running google drive. Quitting the program seems to have fixed it

yeah quitting the app solved the problem! Thanks Kerraffe. Hopefully Google Drive will be updated soon accordingly.

That's the solution, thanks! I quit Google Drive (via the icon at the top of the screen), then deleted the application. The files on the internet at Google Drive are still fine when you do so.

Go to the Applications folder, right-click on the Google drive icon, Get Info and check the Prevent App Nap checkbox.

I have no idea whether this just started or I just noticed it but it also appeared for me out of no where, this solution quitting out of the Google Drive app solved it. I've also ticked the Prevent App Nap in Get Info, just for good measure. Well done!
