Lots of reports on here where Google Drive is causing all kinds of problems for Mavericks users - especially random Finder restarts. If you have it, try uninstalling it and testing.
I have the same problem and I think it is a bug. I have installed Google Drive and this may be cause the problem. Try to search for "Finder refresh" in Google or in this community to find a solution. Fortunalety, I think there is one (I hope).
Have a look at Mr Piv's suggesting in this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5525710?start=15&tstart=0
Seems quitting Google Drive will solve teh problem as well.
In the link Paul_31 referenced note:
Google Drive causes this crash and it's important to note that there is a solution as explained by "MrPiv" :

If you uncheck "Show file sync status icons" in Google Drive preferences, the crashing will stop. Found this on the Google Product Forums. Google Drive will then be usable again.
Google has issued a fix for this, which requires you quit and re-launch the Google Drive application (or just restart your Mac).
