Why is iMovie not free now?

I was able to upgrade iMovie for iOS (for iPad and iPhone) for free.

I think it's also free with all new hardware, like iPad Air, and iPad Mini with Retina Display.

It says it costs money when you open that link in itunes, or if you search for imovie in appstore. I have a new 32gb iphone 5s.. What is up with this?? How do you get it for free?

I have the iPod touch 5 and when I try to update it the thing says update is up to date and why is iMovie not free I want it to edit videos for you tube and it is not free

Sorry to dig this one up.

In App Store, go to "Purchases". If you ever had iMovie, it will be in there for Download. I found it in there after I updated to Maverick, then Yosemite, and now El Capitan.
