My iPhone 4s suddenly stopped ringing. There is no ringtone when receiving calls. Is there anything I can do, other than take it in for repair? It is not wet.

Is the silent switch on the side of the iphone on?
No. silent switch is not on. I've checked settings..... sound volume slider is turned all the way up; the different ringtones do not play a sample when selected; when listening to voicemail,the "speaker" feature does not work.
I have also completely turned my iPhone 4s OFF (rebooted), waited over a minute, turned it back ON. Still no ringtones or ringing for incoming calls.
Try a reset.
If that fails try a restore.
I was having the same problem too until last night. The solution is simple and it has t do with the ios. Here is what I did:
Setting
General
Acessibility
Assistive touch - turn it on.
Once you have it on and the black square / white dot appear tap on it, select Device, and turn the bell mute (crossed over). Your cna then get get back to the Assistive touch, turn the button on the left of your phone down (whicn would be then on mute), turn the assistive touch off and now my phone works.
I hope this will solve for you too. I can hardly believe that Apple had this bug on the new ios and do not know about it or are in that much denial I talked to a se ior advisor for days and took to the store too. The solution was not found in either case.
