What is cleaning on my iPhone?
When I close an app on my phone, the icon says "Cleaning..." Then quickly goes away. The app still works, but I want to know what this is

I have seen it on Instagram and the Cnet app.
Ever since iOS 5 and the introduction of iCloud, that sometimes happens as iOS tries to clean up App caches and tmp files to make backups as small and compact as possible.
It has been reported to occur more frequently or take longer if your device storage is at or near full.
But it is a normal function of iOS, not an error or abberation.
That must be it! My phone is always very full on memory.
