computer is slow, spinning color wheel

My iMac G5 has gotten progressively slower, is choppy and slow using the internet, watching video, using word functions like cut/paste. Brought it to AppleStore Genius Bar and they ran a script and said all is fine, but still slow. Any suggestions how to improve/fix?

iMac (21.5-inch Late 2009), Mac OS X (10.6.8)
