I've noticed lately my phone has been lagging something terrible when sending a pic through iMessage or normal texts. It makes me feel like I didn't hit the send button. Takes about 5 seconds to finally send. Anyone else dealing with this?

iMessages depend on the data connection. Is it possible the picture is a little large? Is it possible that the other party you are sending to does not have a good data connection at the time? Are you on wifi or cellular data when this happens? Do you have a good signal at this time?
Not sure about pic size, it's whatever the phone took. I was sending with a very strong wifi signal when it lagged. Has happened a few times always when I'm at home with a good wifi signal. It also happens when sending to android. It's like the phone freezes up while it's sending, then poof, it's sent! Almost seems like it needs a progress bar, instead it appears it's freezing.
There is a progress bar during the send. Actually, despite good wifi signal, you may not have had that good of an upload speed. Again, I believe like any other data transfer, there has to be a handshake between the two devices and the Apple servers, and with a picture, 5 seconds to send is not that long.
