my iphone and ipad mirror each other

How can I get my iphone and my ipad to not mirror each other? I want some songs stored on my iphone and none on my ipad.

When I put a playlist on my iphone, it automatically went on my ipad.

When I took the playlist off my ipad, it disappeared from my iphone.

But itunes on my pc thinks that playlist is on my iphone and won't sync/restore it.

If you have both devices logged into the same icloud account, then they will "mirror" each other, they remained in sync with each other. That what icloud does. If there's one service that you don't want two devices to mirror, like Contacts, then turn that off in Settings>icloud.

If you use itunes to sync music (icloud doesn't do this unless you subscribe to the iTunes Match service - which is also a sync service) then sync each device to itunes independently, setting which music/playlists you want using the Music tab in itunes.

I want both devices to have access to all my music via the cloud.

I'm having trouble also physically storing one itunes playlist solely on my iphone.
