iOS 7 file size

Can you choose to have a compresssed version of iOS 7 that you can download? And if so, will it require less memory to install?

If you attach your iPad to a computer and using iTunes

on that computer to update, you need less available free space

on the iPad than if you do an over the air update if this is a

concern.

If your concern is reducing the amount ofwireless data used,

go somewhere (coffee shop, library, etc) that has free wifi.

No. The update package is about 700Mb in size for download, however you require 3GB of free space for it to be uncompressed so the update operation can take place.

There is no way to perform a partial update, or download a smaller file.

It is what it is.

As was answered in your other thread you can perform the update through iTunes with less than 500Mb of free space on your device, as the uncompressing is done on the computer and it then simply replaces files.

With that you should consider that if you don't have at least 3GB of space left on your iPad you are running out of space, and App updates and other space requiring Apps may start to complain.

In any case you should be thinking of removing some stuff from the iPad to make more room even if its only to maintain a functional level of operations.
