What are my Options? Pulled out old MacBook, can't do password.

Yesterday, I tried every password I would have used at the time (about 3-4 years ago) and I'm not a sophisticated password maker. What are my options at this point? I don't want to lose my files...

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

You will need your original media disc to reset the admin password.

And honestly, saying you are concerned about not losing files on a machine that has been sitting for years untouched is really asking for bad news - if those files are precious, they should be backed up somewhere, ideally with multiple redundant backup media.
