Q: Ipad air low memory crash

I came to this forum to see if other ipad air owners are experiencing same problem with low memory crashing as I do but seems like I'm one of the few people have this. So far I have 10 low memory crash reports. I also have about 30 more crash reports but it's from various apps. I got my ipad air on the launch day, second in line, here in California. Maybe I just have a defective one, I don't know. If you have same issues, please reply so I can determine if I should return it or just live with it. Closing apps every day is a hassle. I wish Apple just put in extra gig of ram. Overall, I am extremely happy with my ipad. There are so many good this things to mention about this ipad but this is wrong thread to do that.

After trying out ios7.1 for number of days now I must say this a huge improvement. It still crashes once in a while but that is not an issue anymore. Nothing is perfect in this world. I do wish there was more ram because memory is constantly running low. I also wish iPads had memory card slot but knowing how stingy Apple is with memory that is just wishful thinking.

 

I'll give credit where credit is due. Apple engineers did a great job improving this operating system however this should have been done when this device was first launched. This would have avoided millions of customer dissatisfaction.

    Okay. Thank god is finally found a discussion about this annoying problem that no one seems to know about

     

    My brothers ipad air 16 crashes constantly with latest OS

    My ipad air 32 crashes constantly with latest OS.

    My iPhone 4 with latest OS crashes and logs me out of web pages constantly

    My mother in laws Ipad air crashes constantly

    My ipad three with a previous OS. NEVER crashed.

    My iPhone 4 was a dream before IOS 7

     

    Before IOS 7 I was continually bragging about my old iPhone 4 and how perfect it was. Now its a paperweight. I feel this is very similar to how windows renders their older products useless with new OS.

     

    Apple products impressed me so much I invested in the company. I am now not invested in the co. If this becomes widespread knowledge it will certainly hurt the stock price.

     

    That being said I am much more upset that one of the shining star products out today has really let me down

    On my Air, even youtube app crashes. Safari has crashed like routine even using facebook.. One really annoying thing is, I open a couple of websites on safari. I switch to any other app, then switch back to safari, it RELOADS the tabs. WHY should it reload?? Also, I'd like to state that my aptmt has a shared wifi, so i get slow speeds. So I open a video on youtube, pause it to let it buffer, and switch to safari or a game or anything, come back to youtube, and it's still at the same point. I mean youtube buffers only when you're seeing it! Where's multitasking in it?

    I'm also facing the same problem with ipad air 7.0.4 . Previously it used to crash only for safari . For the last one week it's crashing for almost every app..... Currents, safari, news app etc.

    Is there any temporary fix or a solution for this issue

    I guess not. From the discussions above, it seems like a major overhaul in the iOS is required.. Funny that even my nokia buffers youtube videos in the background. I love the Air, and I'm very positive the issues will be fixed.

    The issues will be resolved, but it's still odd that some people here are having issues that are extreme compared to my Air, which never crashes.  I can watch YouTube for hours.  No crash.  I can stream a movie from NetFlix.  No crash.  I can have multiple apps open, I can scroll pages in Safari (including pages people here have said crash their iPad.  No crash.

     

    I don't know why my iPad never crashes.  But I'm glad it doesn't.

    It's interesting that someone with no iPad issues finds this thread and comments on it, giving us advice.

    One can find threads on this issue from 2010.

    I guess it will be resolved ... sometime.

    So folks with no iPad crashes do searches for threads discussing iPad crashes and post to say their iPad is fine.

    Posting is fine. Anyone know of a thread about iPads catching fire?  Mine doesn't, and I want to tell people the issue will be resolved.

    Probably you have not opened multiple applications at a time. For ex I open Youtube and safari and a game...youtube has crashed three times till now. Safari: it has crashed multiple times while only two tabs open- facebook and THIS page. And everyone here has reproduced the crashes on the websites mentioned in previous replies... So if yours is not having these problems, you are a lucky person, and it would help us if you could share your device details with us and some screenshots. :)

    I get your point! There is a different way to express if someone's device is not having a problem. It is a totally different thing to reject so many owners' claim lol!
