Q: Ipad air low memory crash

I came to this forum to see if other ipad air owners are experiencing same problem with low memory crashing as I do but seems like I'm one of the few people have this. So far I have 10 low memory crash reports. I also have about 30 more crash reports but it's from various apps. I got my ipad air on the launch day, second in line, here in California. Maybe I just have a defective one, I don't know. If you have same issues, please reply so I can determine if I should return it or just live with it. Closing apps every day is a hassle. I wish Apple just put in extra gig of ram. Overall, I am extremely happy with my ipad. There are so many good this things to mention about this ipad but this is wrong thread to do that.

Anyone know of a thread about iPads catching fire?  Mine doesn't, and I want to tell people the issue will be resolved.

Yes, it's generally the result of using a defective counterfeit charger.

And, no, my iPad Air doesn't crash.

I get your point! There is a different way to express if someone's device is not having a problem. It is a totally different thing to reject so many owners' claim lol!

Where has anyone said that people are not having problems? rbrylawski never did. His point, like mine, is that it's not happening to every single iPad Air and probably isn't happening to most of them.

I am not even a heavy user for work, I only use it to browse the internet. I find it crashes when viewing ebay auctions, facebook or photos on internet forums. Its like it gets confused and shuts off. I am not a computer expert by any stretch but it certainly appears to be memory related

Went to an Apple reseller today. (as an Apple shop is quite far away) the guy there said he had never heard of the issue? (BS!!) then during the conversation I asked if he wanted to see it in action, he said "no, I've seen it before"

I think the company line is not to admit a problem but try to help.

Folks, I've noticed something that some of you may not have thought of. the trolls that come here and complain over the top about how apple has screwed up, may very well be trying to put down posts that get picked up by the internet crawlers that feed info to Stock brokers. If they can get an article in a major publication about problems they can drive the stock down for a buy situation. Just something to consider. Not everyone just wants to sort this problem on this forum, Thats my thoughts.

    cheers. Peter in UK

I do not know to what extent but I do know some people have other motives here, they normally try to spam any sensible posts right out of view in no time at all.

This poor blabowski individual would rather spend 1,000's of hours ENDLESSLY repeating himself than pursue other things in life. Its very very sad. Every couple of days.."..duhhhhh.... In case you dont remember....duhhh.....i dont have a problem with my ipad....duhh...." Very sad indeed.

At least 4 people here have gone to the Apple store and made EVERY ipad air crash, IN FRONT OF APPLE EMPLOYEES, for a 100% CRASH/FAIL rate.

I will post that fact EVERY TIME from now on that a denier repeats themselves.

zxphilxz I am hesitant to even give your post a response, however you are calling this person sad when you have been here literally since last year saying the same thing over and over? You have been flaming the ipad air long enough. Why do the hosts even let this stuff continue when it is clearly fairly odd? These questions do not require answers and I will guarantee you readers these people will continue on to post even until next year unless someone locks down this thread.

Yes there is some crashing, Yes apple knows this, Yes they will fix it.

If you aren't happy feel free to move on, there is much more to life out there.

No not everyones device is crashing as described in this thread.

I sold my ipad 4 at a loss to "upgrade" to the ipad air. I lost MONEY doing so. The ipad air CONSTANTLY crashed. I got a replacement- IT CONSTANTLY CRASHED. I lost time and work as a result.

Let me recap, I LOST MONEY, TIME AND WORK do to The ipad air CRASHING CONSTANTLY. That is my motive for posting in this thread, WHICH IS ABOUT THE IPAD AIR CRASHING.

    Now what is your motive?

You're a waste of time and I won't even reply again in helping you bump this nonsense thread after this response.

You could have returned your ipad air for a full refund, a lot of companys dont do that ( or they make you pay a restocking fee )

Since you did not return your ipad, that was your choice. Your posts and capital letters make no sense. None of my devices act the way you have been describing.

I do not understand why in the world you sit here day after day responding and flaming, but as I said before you have literally been here since last year and i doubt it is because you are genuinely trying to solve a problem.

They aren't all broken because yours is... get over it.

You dont understand why I am here? But you understand why others who are denying the problem are. If you arent an obvious Apple plant, I dont know who is.

I did return my ipad air for a full refund. Other companies dont charge restocking fees for a defective product. And that is what the ipad air is. A defective product.

Let me make it REAL CLEAR why I am here.

Because my ipad airs had a major, repetitive, time consuming, loss of work CRASHING PROBLEM.

    Why are you here?

All you people with ipad airs that are crashing- let these people who are denying the problem be a warning to you concerning Apples new way of doing business.

Every day, new people are Showing up in this thread to claim they have no problem. Why are they here? Do you see many other threads where multiple people are chiming in- not to contribute to the discussion, but to deny they have the problem in the discussion?

This is called spin. Trying to spin the problem away by claiming there is no problem. In a thread dedicated to the specific problem.

I have had a game open, Pandora streaming, Safari, YouTube.  Sorry to upset you, but my iPad does not crash.  I'm in Starbucks typing this from Safari while listening to Pandora.  No crash.

And to the guy who wondered why I'm here?  I'm on the forums daily.  I actually enjoy helping people with their iPad issues.  When they brick them, or can't figure something out, I'll offer assistance.  My fascination with this thread however is simple.  I have an iPad Air, which runs perfectly.  I'm actually sorry others aren't experiencing the same from their devices.  So I keep up with the thread and I will be glad when the issue is resolved.  But I also feel a sense of responsibility to post that my device runs great to demonstrate that not EVERY iPad Air is flawed.  If that bothers you?  That's your problem.

There's really no other word to describe you other than you're nasty.  You really would do the  Apple community a favor if you sold your device and had something else to whine about.

No problem and thanks.  I've never claimed the problems aren't real.  And I'm sorry anyone's device is causing them grief.  Zxphilxz however, needs to move on and spew hatred at something else.

Without wishing to get involved in the disputes going on in this thread(!)

I've experienced 29 low memory crashes in 3 days. Mainly when using Safari, but not exclusively so.

Before purchasing the ipad air, I had an ipad 2 since they came out and had barely a problem with it, even though latterly it was running the same version of ios as the ipad air. Similarly with an iphone 5 - no problems.

To say I'm disappointed with the ipad air is an understatement, I'm beginning to regret ever buying it.

I've tried resetting and installing as a new device, and have still had problems.

Latest problem is that I had 188 apps organised in folders when I went to bed last night. I get up this morning and every folder has disappeared and 188 apps are randomly splattered over multiple pages. :(

My local Apple shop will be getting a visit this week!
