Q: Ipad air low memory crash

I'm a big believer in AppleCare+.  Yes, you do get two years of tech support which is a great advantage, but the real advantage is the cost of a replacement (twice in two years) for $49 for accidental damage.

I've been hesitant to head to Apple store to discuss my issues

Keeping up with this discussion since page 30 and exchange/clearing iOS with new download etc doesn't really seem to solve the problems from what I read here

While Apple may not say much when they're working on something, I'm going to bet your wait will be rewarded with an update that will solve your issues.  Hang in there.......

We have three ipad Airs in the household. All three are experiencing crash problems. Never had this problem with our older iPads.  Crashes in Twitter, Chrome, Safari.  Doesn't seem to mater what the app is.  Sometimes mine does a reboot. Apple needs to get on top of this. I will be calling support to document the issue.

There are multiple threads here on Apple about the systemic crashing and rebooting of the new ipads. Snowball effect is kicking in.

Soon it will be all over the press. Apple can only suppress this gigantic fiasco for so long.

Me? Time to start test driving other tablets. I've had enough.

And these deniers trying to spin the problem away are just disgusting me further.

Apple doesnt censor there own denier "plants", but they are censoring those of us who are posting about the crashing, the reboots, etc...

as a Test and Software Engineer, owner of an Ipad Air, I formed my OWN opinion on the matter.

I am increasingly convinced that the Ipad Air has some HW/SW design flaw.

I also think the new 64-bit architecture was not FULL ready to be released, unsupported by a stable, satisfactory OS.

There were problems at the date of the Ipad Release, and they are still there now after months...

Also the choice of so little RAM has been a risk, 1 GB of RAM is not enough for such a device.

It is maybe just enough to bring customers to the next gen devices....

thanks...unfortunately for me doesn't work...I did 3 clean reinstall as new of my ipad air. Today I have experience also a windows like "blue screen of death" followed by a reboot of my iPad Air. In the diagnostic data I have a panic.plist now...

Apple stop deleting posts and just shut this thread down.

I am so happy that I waited and now the people who sold their iPads will look like idiots with their samsung tabs lmao!!

Yeah, this is different from the Safari crash/refresh issue.

I hope that these problems will be fixed with 7.1.  After studying crashes and the results of a memory monitor, the problem is clearly with IOS7's memory manager.  It will report that most of the memory is unavailable to the ipad before the crash occurs.  This is clearly an embarrassing problem for Apple.  It has taken them up to this time to acknowledge that a problem does exist.  It should have never been a problem to begin with.

Don't want to spoil it for you but don't hold your breath. While "it" is more stable it still crashes. No one will really know until it's finally released.
