Q: Ipad air low memory crash

I came to this forum to see if other ipad air owners are experiencing same problem with low memory crashing as I do but seems like I'm one of the few people have this. So far I have 10 low memory crash reports. I also have about 30 more crash reports but it's from various apps. I got my ipad air on the launch day, second in line, here in California. Maybe I just have a defective one, I don't know. If you have same issues, please reply so I can determine if I should return it or just live with it. Closing apps every day is a hassle. I wish Apple just put in extra gig of ram. Overall, I am extremely happy with my ipad. There are so many good this things to mention about this ipad but this is wrong thread to do that.

Those Apple Genius workers disturb me to no end....It's as if they've been programmed to say the same thing to every iPad customer who asks the same question about browser crashes....you think they would gain intelligence with each person they try to help resolve this issue....but they fall back to their "I've never heard about this problem before", or "We haven't heard about any increase in failures regarding Safari crashes"....it's like hitting the rewind button and playing back the same tune over and over....they're robots!!

Instead of getting the new ipad when it comes out, how about you give me half the money and I will kick you in the junk. It seems it would be a far better deal for you. You could also use the rest of the money for an ice pack. I am kidding obviously. I am very leary of Apple in the way they have handled this, you are having issues as well and can't wait for the next product. I don't get it

"Well said Peter. I love mine too, all 5 airs I've had."

That gave me a good chuckle. And yes the situation is quite stuffed.

I've spoken to 3 apple retail staff members and they have denied and/or downplayed the crashing.

Two of them stated that they are hoping/expecting 7.1 to solve issues from previous experience.

Two of them did say they are having major dramas with their iPhone (as opposed to ipad air). One if these is a guy I've known for a while whose been helpful in the past on discussing issues (eg letting me know there is no real need for AppleCare for an iMac with respect to extended warranty)

It is quite pathetic, yet typical, how apple deny/do not comment. But let's face it they are here for their shareholders and themselves. And even though many here want return/run over their iPads I believe many many many people out there do are not aware of these issues as their usage does not cause too may of these crashes

They ask, what will your verse be?

    Many would answer: http://youtu.be/BYW6C44zo24

Let me further add that even though I find the Apple Genius workers so unhelpful with the low memory crash bug, they're certainly not to blame for this fiasco.  They can't backstab the company they work for...I get that....I just wish Apple would come forward and give us the truth.....stop telling us there's nothing wrong, or try to hide behind the next OS build or next iPad.

I totally agree with you. It as if they have been programmed to tow the line. I am very confused with Apple. I used to follow Apple blindly but I am reconsidering purchasing all things Apple

Agree with that one too. Maybe it's just the illuminati sticking it to us consumers ha. It is just so disappointing I have a Mac, iPhone, Apple TV and a MacBook Air. So I am no apple hater but this experience has made me question all of the love I have shown apple

Apple just admit there is an issue with some iPads. I would respect that but making me think I am crazy and that my problems were isolated just irks me

I've been following apple product launches and technology since I bought my first smart phone (4s)   I have since picked up an iMac (late 2012) and now the ipad air.

I am happy within the apple ecosystem. And apple communities is a great asset to the apple ecosystem for all users

The first thing I noticed when looking at acquiring my iMac back then was how divided people can be. Some will just slag apple off and some will follow blindly and kneel in front of apple inc. it's certainly one strong brand!

There are pluses and minuses and not only is this ipad air /ios 7 release quite sad but so was their extended delay on the release of the 2012 iMac I picked up.

Those marketing deadlines can be a b**%h!!! Sadly

    Don't knock my Nokia 5110.

Unfortunately the apps on that device were quite limited :)

Apple communities are great but apple customer service is lacking. No email support and AppleCare is just ok. I miss Steve Jobs and apple striving for greatness. Now it just seems they release a product and if it doesn't work they will fix it in the next gen. Very troubling

Hey ... My first smart phone was the 5s. I can't recall how long I had my basic old Sammy flip phone, but looked like it had survived a sandstorm and the thrown into a clothes drier with a few handfuls of gravel. As a phone it worked find. My 5s would be toast if went through a fraction of the abuse it went through.

    Was ... and is

I love it, but it suffers from all of the problems reported for the Air ...  BUT thankfully very rarely. If it had the frequency of crashes some people report with their Airs I *would* throw it in a clothes drier with a few handfuls of gravel.

You call that a stress test? I can scroll up and down same speed as you are doing and once in a while I will get lucky and my ipad air will not crash. Scroll down much faster, zoom in and out, and do it for at least 1 minute. Also, your video does not show that it's ipad air and you need to show that you are running ios7. If you can do all that, then I will believe you. Otherwise I can post similar video and it proves nothing.
