Q: Ipad air low memory crash

I came to this forum to see if other ipad air owners are experiencing same problem with low memory crashing as I do but seems like I'm one of the few people have this. So far I have 10 low memory crash reports. I also have about 30 more crash reports but it's from various apps. I got my ipad air on the launch day, second in line, here in California. Maybe I just have a defective one, I don't know. If you have same issues, please reply so I can determine if I should return it or just live with it. Closing apps every day is a hassle. I wish Apple just put in extra gig of ram. Overall, I am extremely happy with my ipad. There are so many good this things to mention about this ipad but this is wrong thread to do that.

Oh wow your ipad finally crashed. 10,000 points is impressive. I received a participation trophy in 3rd grade. Would you be willing to trade me the trophy for your points?

And bragging about fake brownie points isn't. On a serious note welcome to the club of safari crash. You are welcome in our tribe. We forgive your past indiscretions.

Um, OK........so, we found a site that when in landscape mode made Safari quit on me.  All I had to do was move it to portrait and it ran fine.  But, I do agree that no site should close whether in portrait or landscape.  I guess until Apple fixes this (and yes, I have every confidence they will), we can do what Steve Jobs told people when they said......"but if you hold it here, the signal reduces," to which he simply said (which I'm sure he regretted saying - God Rest His Soul), "just don't hold it that way."

And to add to what I wrote above, for me, my iPad works really well.  I was at Starbucks this afternoon for several hours and for the entire time, I was streaming music from Pandora, while reading a magazine I downloaded from Zinio, which had embedded videos which I watched, while also surfing some sites in Safari, reading and responding to emails, texting with a friend and the entire time, my iPad was very stable and worked as I would expect it to work.

I don't stress my iPad to see if I can make it crash.  I just use it and that's enough for me.

If your iPad experience isn't satisfactory, I'm sorry and do hope the upcoming update makes it more stable for your needs.

To be clear rbrylawski, if having one page open to a retail site or attempting to access my local newspaper online is "stressing it out", i guess I'm guilty. Shame on me for expecting more out of my $700 device.

But if you were a Nine Inch Nails fan, you might be unhappy. What you are seeing is the unhappiness of folks who use the iPad Air as a primary web access tool and are unable to visit there favorite sites with some reliability. This includes Facebook.

I use my Air to access all my favorite sites. I watch live TV on it, movies, use FaceTime, read books with iBooks, use Google Earth including street view, edit and build my website and the list goes on ... with very few crash to home screen.

So for me, my Air is working reliably to my satisfaction. Again, not all of us are experiencing the severe problems reported in this thread.

Oh I get that.  But it does run just fine in Portrait mode.  At least it did for me.  Does it not run in Portrait for you?  If it does, then it's not a total fail.  Just a landscape fail.  Which shouldn't happen regardless.

You say Facebook is an issue.  I've never had an issue with Facebook.  Are you talking about Facebook via Safari, or the Facebook App.  I use the App and have never really found a need to acces it via Safari.

Then you are clearly having significant issues.  I'm not having any real issues accessing the "sites" I typically use.

Nine Inch Nails is the best. Their website works fine on my new surface pro. Has anyone switched to google nexus because of these problems. I would like to know if anyone has a comparison that formerly had a ipad air
