Q: Ipad air low memory crash

I came to this forum to see if other ipad air owners are experiencing same problem with low memory crashing as I do but seems like I'm one of the few people have this. So far I have 10 low memory crash reports. I also have about 30 more crash reports but it's from various apps. I got my ipad air on the launch day, second in line, here in California. Maybe I just have a defective one, I don't know. If you have same issues, please reply so I can determine if I should return it or just live with it. Closing apps every day is a hassle. I wish Apple just put in extra gig of ram. Overall, I am extremely happy with my ipad. There are so many good this things to mention about this ipad but this is wrong thread to do that.

While there seems to be some improvement since 7.1, I'm still having issues with low memory "freezing", which requires me to use a memory clearing app in order to complete the loading of a Safari page. This is very disappointing. Android products are looking better to me as this continues. I have an iPad Air and an iPhone 5. My phone contract is over in September. I'm considering the next Google Nexus phone even though my iPhone is not as problematic as the iPad. As far as the tablet, I probably will stay with the iPad for a year or so because of my investment in it and many apps. My wife and son each have Nexus tablets. These never crash, regardless of how many apps and web pages are running.

    Hi all

Regardless of whether the problem still remains, the "error reporting"  postings' (compared to a week or two ago) have stopped. Thats not to say the problem has gone away, but seems restriced to certain (and a minority) of people on these forums.

Since things "seemed" to have settled down with ios 7.1, I may repurchase the ipad air, as although not perfect, its got features on it that would be useful to me (low latency for music/korg/ cubases etc) amongst others things like retina displsy and so forth.  I will still keep my samsung note 10.1 (2012 edition with 1280 res) as its a nice little device and good for taking notes

Here my update in one phrase after several weeks after the iOS 7.1 update.

iOS 7.1 has reduced the safari crashes based on my use from 3-4 daily up to 1-2 weekly but it's definitely not solved, it's far away from being solved.

I have used Ipad 2 with ios6 google earth street view no crashes at all.

The same Ipad 2 with ios7.1 google earth street view crashes every time.

This says there is a big buggy problem with the operating system ios7.

This is not good enough Apple.

My ipad air crashes also in google earth street view.

My problems seemed to be history after installing iOS 7.1, but since yesterday the low memory crashes suddenly re-appeared. I don't have a clue why, but now it happens in several apps whereas before 7.1 it only happened in Safari.

This blog crashes for me in both Safari and Chrome:

    http://supportfreefuture.blogspot.com

Also, when first writing this post Safari crashed, had to start from the beginning, including logging in and go get the URL etc.

At this point I'm ready to become an anti-Apple crusader.

Restarted, no crash on that blog anymore, and hopefully I'm back to the previous level of crashing (bad but not like the last few days of horror, 30+ crashes today alone). Probably because it flushed the memory. Fix the memory leakage Apple.

Hello tony, the problems have remained the same. There is just nothing to add any more. More and more apps popup a message that the iPad Air is at low memory. The last one is for me google earth. Also other apps either crash on low memory our spit out a message. I just gave up on it, the iPad Air is a flawed product and as consumer you stand nowhere.

    Bas.

You might document crashes by taking screen shots of the crash logs.

Since 7.1 on my Air, many fewer crashes but still 1-2 a day, more low memory messages.

I never have many apps open, I think the crashes seem to happen in Safari while the Audible app is active.

ok, i think i found the solution for "lowMemory-Problem" for application like Browser...

The Crash to HomeScreen or Dashboard with Browser "ICAB MOBILE" is replicable, also the crash with Browser "Chrome" to the Apple-Logo with complete reboot.

Safari-Browser works some litte better at the moment, don't know why, but in rare moments also crashing to HomeScreen/Dashbarod.

    Here is the Solution:
Check your IPAD AIR to another WLAN/Router and the Problems NOT replicable anymore...

So the Problem must be a Router/WLAN/Cookies Problem.

    Problem occurs with Router:

    AVM FritzBox V7270 V2 - latest Firmware 54.05.54

    WPA2-CCMP

    automatic radio channel

Please test your IPAD with other public or private WLAN's and report wheater browser-Problems with "lowMemory" are solved or not.

Very thanks and hope apple will be find the error in IOS7.1.1
