Q: Ipad air low memory crash

I came to this forum to see if other ipad air owners are experiencing same problem with low memory crashing as I do but seems like I'm one of the few people have this. So far I have 10 low memory crash reports. I also have about 30 more crash reports but it's from various apps. I got my ipad air on the launch day, second in line, here in California. Maybe I just have a defective one, I don't know. If you have same issues, please reply so I can determine if I should return it or just live with it. Closing apps every day is a hassle. I wish Apple just put in extra gig of ram. Overall, I am extremely happy with my ipad. There are so many good this things to mention about this ipad but this is wrong thread to do that.

Wait, so if I can crash the iPad air in front of them then I get a free $15 gift card? My iPad air has been crashing constantly.

But seriously, iPad air is the buggiest piece of crap ever with its constant crashing and bugs like screen not rotating. It's even buggier than early Androids. Even Android doesn't have this many bugs and reboots now.

After 2 days without crashing it finally happened again. I did not install apps one by one. I only changed from dynamic to still wallpaper. In speaking to senior applecare person he told me to be patient. An update should be out again. He did not know when.

If this is true then there is still hope.

Yeah, the manager gave me a $15 iTunes card because he can't figure out how to fix the iPad Air issues.

Stop fanning boy... Chrome just crashed when i  clicked reply to your untruthful comments. We are trying to find a solution to fix a device that we love and shelled out a lot for. Especially the mobile versions.

. Did everything reboot, left cookies on always [ i usually only accept first parties] , turn off do not track, turn on track... Turn off on sent diag.... Computer guru expert.. Programmer

And still the same... again this happened to me since few days before the release of the air with my ipad 4 that was updated to ios7 leading up to the realease date.. It continue on to the air when i purchased it.

So it might be something with ios7

Been tolerating this for 2 months... Constant tab reloads for no reason... Cant switch between tab without refreshing---mad annoying.

I have to switch between tabs constantly... If this device is not up to the tasks don't claim its 64 bit with desktop architecture .... Where are the commercials about 64 bit like its a desktop ... Why are you silence on this

You either sold us the first waves of duds or don't have a fix..

I guarantee you that someone will be **** because they claim it to be 64 bit and it constantly crashes.

upgrade your safari browser and allow google chrome to function properly. You are hurting the consumers on this rivalry thing..

Let us select texts normally not like we are not crippled. Everytime i try to copy and paste on the ipad, its like learning how to cope with cripple ness.. Its insane.

This is not just coding sites because of the constant refreshes that crashes the browsers but regular browsing activity.

If you have adsense.. For example it is impossible to select the codes to paste... It seems like it selects to whole text box instead of just the required text. Doing this selects the code for the text box with required codes in it.

One example of many websites that copy and paste does not work.. And before you say that some sites dont allow text selecting, i say dont be stupid now...we been surfing the internet for decades and we should know when texts copy aren't allow

    Fix the **** thing already...

This is not a toy.. If you sold us  first wave of duds... Let us return or exchange it for something that works

    I will request a refund.

    I have decided.

Today I have spoken with a Apple Support guy, very polite and comunicative, for more than an hour.

He agreed that it is a problem due to the lack of memory.

IOS 7 + 64 bit architecture + bad virtual memory management + Some apps requires for sure more than 1GB.

VERY SORRY... a model with 2 GB would be perfect!!!

    :-(((((((((((

    Ciao

"iOS 7 + 64 bit architecture + bad virtual memory management"

FIX THE ABOVE ... This MUST be done! (iOS 7.1 ?)

This would fix 60/70/80?% of the problem for most people.

And yes - next hardware refresh bump RAM to 2gb or 4gb.

Well the iOS has no virtual memory... That's why it crashes when it runs out of memory. The tabs keeps refreshing because it doesn't even have enough ram to load multiple tabs at once. It's sad.

I hate to say it, but I too will likely be returning my iPad Air.  I have never had so many crashes and have owned every iPad to date.  I find it unbelievable that a device touted as being 64bit only has 1g of ram.  Apple should make this right and start churning them out with at least 2gb ram.  The only way we can be heard is by returning our devices.  They will likely get this right with the next update, just sad we all have to wait till then.

Have been using it for a few hours on cellular tmobile only and so far a different experience.  Safari is set to first party cookies only and still no crash. Been heavily coding on wordpress, no refreshes also..

Did not try on chrome yet...

Maybe its a wifi issue... I have verizon fios 25/150...

Hopefully its just an update because i do nog want to return my brand new ipad air for a refurbished one.
