Q: Ipad air low memory crash

I came to this forum to see if other ipad air owners are experiencing same problem with low memory crashing as I do but seems like I'm one of the few people have this. So far I have 10 low memory crash reports. I also have about 30 more crash reports but it's from various apps. I got my ipad air on the launch day, second in line, here in California. Maybe I just have a defective one, I don't know. If you have same issues, please reply so I can determine if I should return it or just live with it. Closing apps every day is a hassle. I wish Apple just put in extra gig of ram. Overall, I am extremely happy with my ipad. There are so many good this things to mention about this ipad but this is wrong thread to do that.

Apple devices always seem to not have enough ram. I think the reason why is because little ram and your device crashing causes you to have to update. But my iphone 4S has half a gig og ram but its fine

I totally agree with you when you say:

"Apple devices always seem to not have enough ram.

I think the reason why is because little ram and your device crashing causes you to have to update.”

    --------------

Anyway with the Ipad Air, Apple has outdone itself, since they has subtly deceived their customers, selling a very expensive object not at all ready and properly tested and fixed to go to market.

Today I received a warning that impressed me...Ironically bought a "Last-generation" iPad Air,  3 days ago and receive this warning.
I was using Autodesk Motion on my 32 Gb iPad. "/

    Please, take a look...

I guess Apple has some serious control on the spin out there. They probably have employees doing the reviews per an internal memo. Somehow the iPad Air is getting great reviews and most of the Apple employees or "geniuses" are claiming that no one has complained about the Air before.

Sell yer Apple stock if you got it. Its like an old west town with the large facade showing out front but the little beat up building behind it.

Steve Jobs is gone; Apple dumped half of his department heads shortly after....now the house is crumbling- like it did years ago when they chitcanned Jobs.

Its true that people make the company. Steve Jobs is gone. Now you have stuffed shirts with business degrees but no talent running his company into the ground with poor decision after poor decision with no vision.

Someone lock those turds in a room, put the Grateful Dead on, give them some Shrooms or acid and dont let them out until they see the wondrous light.

Then it's Steve's fault. He trusted the wrong guy. Plus something tells me apple is dumping iphone and iPads for market share as you notice retailers were practically giving away Ipad and iPhones. Never have I see apple products b given away so easily. Something's up and toms looking for market share.

"Apple has a culture of excellence that is, I think, so unique and so special. I'm not going to witness or permit the change of it.“

    [Tim Cook]

I would say, dear Tim, that just Steve Job's had this culture of excellence and of high quality"

    The winds are changed...

Have some fun(let's take it easy..) taking a look at these pages from site www.phonearena.com

    1) iOS: 7 a bug-infested mess or simply a work in progress?

After the many, many bugs and design inconsistencies you just went, would you say that iOS 7 is just a tremendous mess?

    http://www.phonearena.com/news/iOS-7-a-bug-infested-mess-or-simply-a-work-in-pro gress_id47928

    2) Apps on iPhone 5s are crashing twice more often than on previous models

iOS 7 is getting a lot of bad press not just for the sub-par icon design, but also for its functionality and things like alignment issues and so many more. Now, we’ve seen an influx of reports about the blue screen of death (BSOD) appearing way too often on users’ screens. Those blue screens are so similar to those coming in MS WINDOWS....

The winds have changed only after thousands of dollars spent. Thanks Apple.

Hopefully the next batch is solid and Apple redeems their standard.

I can only hope that apple can produce any true magic. Nowadays everything just seems like an upgrade. What happened to the magic! I remeberw hen the iphone 4 was released and it was truly magical 4S was the last magical thing.

Kind of amusing honestly.  The iPhone 4/4s, under Steve Jobs supervision had some significant issues.

Antenna-Gate:  Steve had to finally go public and say the phone had an issue after the press pushed Apple to do so.  Apple responded by offering free iPhone cases or bumpers to everyone who bought one initially.

Proximity sensor:  Was ultimately fixed with iOS updates, but when the phone first came out, the proximity sensor was placed in such a way that the screen stayed on, even when the phone was against many people's ears.

Both issues caused threads on this forum with so many more posts than this thread.  I'm talking threads with posts in the thousands, whereas this thread has only 600 or so posts.

My point?  No product when first introduced is 100% perfect.  The fact that there are only about 600 posts, many from the same group of people, indicates most people who own an iPad Air, are out using their devices, without an issue. If there is a real issue with the iPad Air (I don't have this issue on my device, but I don't doubt others do) Apple is busy working on a solution that will simply roll out with a software update and all will be good with the world.

It's true that the Jobs' Apple wasn't perfect far from it with those issues mentioned.  The jobs Apple never would have released a iPad mini or a larger iPhone 6 that is in the works let alone take a break from skeumorphism. He also didn't give a **** about the professional user who prefers a non glossy matte display when working on a MacBook Pro.  So yes Jobs was Apple and you can argue all day about him or move foreword. After living with all the major platforms from Windows to Android to BlackBeery and Apple. Apple is still the best any day of the week.  The winds have changed , just have more mercury in them from all the Foxconn air.

I'm not sure I fully understand what you wrote, but I think I agree.  I'd rather have my iPad and iPhone over any other device out there.

I totally agree with you. Apple is the best so far.

Anyway, I've been seeing so many problems on both my IPad Air and my iPhone 5S.

I'm seeing crashes just about every time I use either device for any extended period of time.

I'm just really hoping the iPad Air and Retina Mini aren't the next first-gen iPads in terms of future software support... too RAM-limited to continue to receive updates a couple years after release.

Moreover iOS needs, and will likely get, more RAM in the upcoming revisions.

Not what I expect out of Apple at all.

    Happy new year :-)
