Q: Ipad air low memory crash

I came to this forum to see if other ipad air owners are experiencing same problem with low memory crashing as I do but seems like I'm one of the few people have this. So far I have 10 low memory crash reports. I also have about 30 more crash reports but it's from various apps. I got my ipad air on the launch day, second in line, here in California. Maybe I just have a defective one, I don't know. If you have same issues, please reply so I can determine if I should return it or just live with it. Closing apps every day is a hassle. I wish Apple just put in extra gig of ram. Overall, I am extremely happy with my ipad. There are so many good this things to mention about this ipad but this is wrong thread to do that.

iOS 7.0.3

Compared to the iphone 5s the ipad air had 4.5 as many pixels. No effect on amount of ram used?

The effect doesn't matter when i'm running every single app i have and every browser tab possible at once in the background with 0 crashes.

I would have experienced some crashing for your hypothesis to even be slightly correct.

Once again, it's a software issue with the ipad airs, not hardware.

I'm seeing ipad air owners reporting crashes with just 1 browser tab open, or just 3 tabs open and no apps. You do the math, is what your saying making any sense at all?

All you ipad air owners/people planning on buying, don't have to worry. It is a software problem and it will be fixed, silently.

But where are the moderators when you need them?

Moderators only delete post that talk about unreleased software....

You say my hypothesis has no effect because there are no crashes on your iphone and it MUST be software.

I'm certainly hoping its software and I have virtually no issues with my ipad and it's usage (touch wood)

So I'm glad you have told us all that it s definitely ios 7.0.4. That's so refreshing to know that it's that software on the ipad air that is the problem and nothing else. If only ipad airs had the same operating system as is on the iphone 5s!! Instead the ipad air has that wretched ios 7.0.4

By the way I've always wondered what operating system does the iphone 5s have?

I meant to say that I am currently having virtually no issues with MY ipad air. I also hope all people here have their issues sorted with ios 7.1

The strangest thing about your situation, with your error-free device, is that you're still here in this thread. This is not a divisive debate, this thread is not about the existence of The supernatural, or Republican versus democrat politics. Your credibility within this thread is completely bankrupt, And I seriously doubt that you own an iPhone 5s.

If you do happen to gain access to a 5S, when you feel like being constructive, then please connect it to a Macintosh computer and look within Xcode at your device logs and console output. When Safari crashes on my device, a virtual memory page shortage error occurs within the logs. I see numerous applications crashing simultaneously. They are being forced killed by the operating system itself when it completely runs out of virtual memory. Now access the instruments tool that accompanies Xcode and crash Safari using one of websites that reproduce the crash, you will see memory leaks that do occur in both the Safari application and in the backboardd process daemon, I think that's the springboard. I'm still researching the issue, and if anybody else been can take a look at what's going on in their Xcode when their iDevice with 64-bit processor, that's the new stuff, is connected to it that would be helpful.

Just because the software reacts a certain way with one device doesn't mean it reacts the same with the other. I will say it again for the slow people in this thread, My Iphones 5S Does Not Crash. Get over it. You people have been attacking anyone who said their devices didn't crash since page 1. Now quit wasting my time, quit wasting your time, quit wasting all of our times and don't post another single response in this pointless thread. What do you people think? That somehow there is this massive defect with apple products or ipad airs? Apple with its 650 billion net worth didn't do the math? They pay people to think who are much smarter then you trust me on that. 1 Your ipads are fine because it is a software problem. 2 you have a great standard warranty and a great return policy. 3 There is a thread like this one made every year. However I know you will keep responding and bumping this thread so I guess we are all stuck here until some mod comes down and brings this maddness to an end.

But ... but ... how are you doing this? Surely your brain is too tiny to comprehend anything you just said.

I dearly hope you DON'T work for Apple.

Trust me on this Apple doesn't need YOUR defense.

No worries. I know it's with me.

If silly little humans does work for apple (during school holidays by the looks of it) I'd love to be at his next staff performance review - would they rehire a twerp?

And it's fair to say apple has two issues here:

Ios 7 and the virus that joined this thread asking for guidance and our feedback re the ipad air about 3 days ago.

I need an anti virus after all
