Q: Ipad air low memory crash

I came to this forum to see if other ipad air owners are experiencing same problem with low memory crashing as I do but seems like I'm one of the few people have this. So far I have 10 low memory crash reports. I also have about 30 more crash reports but it's from various apps. I got my ipad air on the launch day, second in line, here in California. Maybe I just have a defective one, I don't know. If you have same issues, please reply so I can determine if I should return it or just live with it. Closing apps every day is a hassle. I wish Apple just put in extra gig of ram. Overall, I am extremely happy with my ipad. There are so many good this things to mention about this ipad but this is wrong thread to do that.

The funny thing is, everyone who owns a device today running 7.0+ is having low memory issues, most just don't know it.

Go to settings / about / Diagnostics & Data and you will see just how bad this is. You will see a screen like this below. Just because your apps or iPad is not "crashing" does not mean you do not have low memory problems.

Call Apple support again today for my iPad Air random reboot. They make me doing a DFU restore of the iPad and setting it as new (without restoring backup). Now I will test if this works..... I suggest to everybody that have this problem to turn diagnostic on in their device and call Apple for reporting the problem because they insist I'm only the second person to have this issue (in Italy at least). If DFU restore doesn't work they send my device to assistance. Also they have said that the next iOS version will only correct the slowness of the older device :(

You CANNOT have "maxed out tabs in safari" and "20 apps running at the same time" because:

    1. the limited RAM in iOS devices (ALL of them) does NOT allow (even without iOS7's memory management flaws/bugs) keeping in the RAM "maxed out tabs", let alone 20 apps.

    2. iOS does NOT have real multitasking

The fact that you may see 20 apps shown in the multitasking list ONLY means that those are your most recent opened apps NOT that they actually open right now nor that they are all running and doing things (which, again, they CANNOT DO as iOS isn't a real multitasking mobile operating system).

I push my devices to the max daily, it does not crash and it does not reboot and that was my point. I don't care if its a real multitasking OS or not, im using my system as much as anyone could, and yes i do open 20 apps and never close them and i do max out my browser tabs while playing pandora, no crashes. Everyone will experience everything, that is what you people don't understand. There isn't some massive crashing scandal, you keep finding people that have crashes because you keep posting about them. If you werent looking for something so hard you wouldn't find it so easily. Do you understand what i am saying? No, no one does. If you search for something you will always find it, that does not mean that now the apple world is ending and you all have to sit here crying to me about your crashes.

Everything going on is normal, this thread is pointless and not needed. ios 7 is new, your devices are new, did you honestly think there would be no software bugs? You knew there would be, you didn't want to wait as technology changes fast, and i understand that. But you can stop your whining anytime, thx.

You do have crashes. Just because an app doesn't close and send you to the desktop doesn't mean there are no crashes.

Look in settings / about / diagnostics and you will see crashes, lots of them.

If my device doesn't reboot, if my device doesn't restart, if I literally can not tell that my devices is crashing and it is working perfectly, do you think it makes sense to complain about a log? Also my log has no crashing errors, but if it did I wouldn't give a crap because I didn't notice it when it happened...

It does have errors in the log. If you say it doesn't you are lying.  They are still crashes. Call it what you want but they are crashes.

Nope I have no crash reports in my log, I have no reason to lie as I have never experienced the crashes/restarts anyway and we care about the reboots not the logs. ( At least people with common sense do. ) As a side note, I'm used to using the word " crash " as in everything stops working, my devices reboots or something else horrible happens, and my system becomes unstable for a short period... that is my definition of ( crash ) if ( crash ) to you just means you want a clear log well then you have some major OCD buddy. Maybe you should look for cheaper devices that way you won't be so picky about everything?

Post a screen shot and prove that the list is empty.

Right now, he's restoring his iPad and setting up as new so that the list will show as empty.

possibly, but you would be able to tell by the timestamp. Anyway, what does it really matter if he's lying, not lying... or has the 1 ipad that is perfect. lets just ignore and move on with the thread .. just my 2 cents.
