Does anyone know how to group objects in Keynote 6?
It doesn't matter what type of objects I select (text objects, image objects, text and image objects) the group/ungroup menu items remain greyed out.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I was having a similar problem. I figured out that standard parts of a slide--in my case Title and Body--won't group. Go figure.
So I deleted Title from the slide, created a new textbox w/ the same text, and grouped it with the shape as I wanted. Et voila!

But what's described on that page simply doesn't work for me.
Is it possible to run the old version of Keynote on Mavericks? I really need the group feature in order to sort the various on-page reveals and animations.
Really hope this doesn't mean I'm stuck.
OK, so it would seem that objects that are part of a theme can't be grouped (text, objects, images etc).
But if I create a new objects, I can group them - does anyone else see this?
Also, I HATE the fact there's no Save As (same with my fav mac app: Textedit) - if people are confused by Save As then add the duplicate feature in addition - but removing a 1 step process and replacing it with a 4 step process:
Is totally daft.
When you press the alt button, the "Duplicate" menu item turns into "Save as...".
In general, alt modifies quite often modifies a menu item. Give it a try!

There are many issues with Keynote 6 compared to its predecessor, there is supposed to be a regular update during 2014, this may be something that will be updated.
Thank you!!! Did not know the option key restored the "Save As." That was perhaps the stupidest of Apple's arbitrary changes. So glad to have it back.
