Q: Garageband  iWork 09 and the new iOS apps

I have iWork 9 and Garageband on iMac and Macbook . Since updating to OSX 10.9 I added the Pages Numbers Keynote and Garageband apps.

Do i delete previouIWork apps or are the absorbed by new apps ?

that would be up to you, however i'd recommend against it. many have found features in the older apps that were important to their work are not part of the new releases.

in GB, as an example, version 10 no longer offers podcasting tools, or allows every effect to be used on any track. there is also no more Magic GarageBand.

the app itself is small, taking up little hard drive space, i would suggest you keep them, unless and until you're sure you don't need one of the older features not in a newer version

As HangTime said - Apple did not replace the older versions, when installing the new versions, because the new versions differ considerably. At least try them out, before you delete the previous version. You may find, that you will have to fall back on the older versions for some features that are not included in the new versions.

And for iWork, see this document that Apple just released:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6049?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

They are stating plainly, that the new iWork versions also have missing features, that will be added later.
