I found earlier today my earbuds were not working but the audio on my phone with nothing plugged in worked perfectly fine so automatically I grabbed the spare pair I had in my backpack and plugged them in still not working but not until just know had I tried resetting network settings. So go to settings then general then scroll to the bottomish and you will see reset click it and then click reset network settings then type in your passcode if you have one then wait for it to reboot and then see if it worked I have no other methods because I wasn't trying any others I just saw this and wanted others to know

Try to reset the network. You do this by opening Settings, Scrolling down to General, Scroll all the way to the bottom and click on Reset, click on Reset Network Settings. Once your phone reboots, the problem should be sorted. It worked for me and i hope it works for you too! Good Luck!!

My daughter had the same issue. We fixed the problem by adjusting the max volume under music settings. It comes from factory at 0

I found a way to sort this problem out I went in to settings / General / Accessibility / scroll down to thke bottom a turn Mono Audio on and then ajust the volume in accessibility's balance the volume between left and right just place the marker on right and it should be fine this seem tork for me and I had no problem listening to my music

I was convinced that I had a faulty audio jack and was about to take the phone for repair at the "Apple" shop. I then saw your suggestion - I couldn't believe it ! you are right - it works perfect ! ( I thought that I was pushing in the 3.5mm plug hard enough before but I simply was not - like you said - it needs just enough force until you feel a slight "click" ). THANK YOU SO MUCH !!
