Copying from MBP to flash drive,

Hello

My MBP does not allow copying a system file of 5.33 GB to flash drive of 16 GB saying too big.

Could any of you help me out.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Do you have other stuff on the drive that would be taking up space? If so, delete that stuff.


Is it formatted for a windows OS?


If so, you may want to reformat it to Macintosh OS Extended (journaled) to free up that windows stuff.


Plug in the drive, in the Finder clcik GO/Utilities/disk utilitiy, highlight the USB drive in the left column, click erase, set the format for Macintosh OS Extened (Journaled) and give it a name.


Then clcick erase and when it is done, try the transfer again.



Also make sure that the files you are trying to transfer are not locked.
