Q: Hooking Up My Macbook Pro to My TV
Hi all,
I know this question must've been asked a billion times but I couldn't find what I'm looking for. I have a 46" Sanyo LCD TV and would love to hook my (mid 2013) Macbook Pro 13" w/out Retina Display to my TV.
I'm completely clueless on what connector(s) I need to do such a task. Also do I need to install any special software or what-have-you?
Below I've included photos of the connection ports on my TV and my Macbook Pro so I wouldn't have to try to explain things - LOL
The connection ports on the leftside of my MBP (the rightside is just the CD-ROM bay)
The connection ports on the side of my TV (backside; not pictured is HD Cable and auto/video connectors)
Many thanks in advance, Shell x

You have got a Thunderbolt port on the MacBook Pro, and your TV has got HDMI and VGA ports. Obviously, it's much better to use the HDMI port to get the best image quality.
In order to connect the MacBook to your TV, first you have to get a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4241?viewlocale=en_US There are different ones you can get, and any of them should work. Remember to connect the adapter to the Thunderbolt port.
Then, you have to buy a HDMI cable. Any of them should work, and image will start showing on the TV automatically after connecting it to your TV. Make sure the TV is in HDMI mode (you can change the video source on your TV by following the steps of its manual)
