Q: my mac dose't see sx235w epson wifi printers

Introduction: The printer worked on my mac with Mountain Lion,

but then it stopped working (after several attempts to install / uninstall the driver), on the occasion of 'output Maveriks I decided to do a clean install of OSx (hoping to solve the problem). But the printer still is not seen by my mac (but all devices are able to use the printer. The virtual machines installed on my mac can print with sw235x).

pls help me

Thank you, for the 'attention.

Your printer is shown as supporting print & scan on http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669.

Try deleting the printer, the /Library/Printer/EPSON and the /Library/Caches/Epson/ folder and then reinstalling the updates through Software Update.

I think a clean install would have accomplished the above…

If the above doesn't work, you could install the entire Epson package by downloading it here:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1398

Is it failing with USB? Wireless?

Is there anything in /Utilities/Console related to the print job? A filter crashing? Does it happen with other applications?

in the Console i read this :

08/11/13 19:27:18,742 Epson_Stylus_SX235[454]: WARNING: Type1 font data isn't in the correct format required by the Adobe Type 1 Font Format specification.

08/11/13 19:27:26,724 Epson_Stylus_SX235[457]: The function `CGContextErase' is obsolete and will be removed in an upcoming update. Unfortunately, this application, or a library it uses, is using this obsolete function, and is thereby contributing to an overall degradation of system performance.

How do I check if the filter 'crash? Now the printer' s app status is: find printers.

I don't think you need to worry about the second message, but it sounds like the font issue in the first message is killing the printer. Does this still happen if you change fonts?

There might be some information in Console-> /var/log/cups, probably in the error_log.

You may want to contact Epson to see why this font is killing their filter. Do you have any luck if you change fonts?
