Feb 9, 2015 8:49 AM in response to Magnus Lewanby ChromeDesigner,These problems are happening to people who are opening brand new documents in Pages (not large ones). Typing lines and then waiting for a mac to catch up, is not what I'd personally call a usable app. I actually find that Word runs just fine. Apple has to step it up.

Feb 16, 2016 4:43 AM in response to hotkeyz69by Tim Jonathan,Hey guys, I have had the same problem, have searched for a solution everywhere, including this forum. In the end I noticed that pages was especially slow when typing in the middle of the document. (I think it has to do with the amount of data that has to be reordered on the pages after, especially when using a lot of images, footnotes and endnote citations.) Anyway, inserting some page brakes solved the problem for me.

May 4, 2016 10:26 PM in response to Tim Jonathanby Colin Edwards,POSSIBLE EXPLANATION
________Large numbers of completed documents stacked up in iCloud folders will slow down iPad because when you launch PAGES APP iPad processor will be busy looking at every document in turn to see if it needs updating. It would appear that this activity and the updating process will take priority over typing and other actions. Programmers perhaps design the system for Mac users with the fastest hardware and the fastest broadband connection speed. The rest of us need to be more vigilant about keeping our system streamlined.
CURE
________Only retain in the cloud documents in progress, when a document is finished move it out of iCloud.
I have been having this problem for quite some time,
During April 2016 I Called Apple telephone support (a free service at this time)
The helper advised me to delete PAGES APP off my ipad, then re-install by downloading again from app store.
This strategy did not fix the problem.
I decided to see how many documents are stored in iCloud
over 250 documents
So when I launch iPad PAGES APP there is going to be a large amount of data flowing via WiFi
No wonder, on launching the app it is typically unresponsive for many minutes, I find leaving it alone for half an hour helps.
After this time has passed I find PAGES becomes responsive and time-lag problems disappear.
The question remains
how to quickly move documents out of iCloud into new locations on the iMac Hard drive?
Accessing these documents via icloud.com can only be done (apparently) one at a time
a very time consuming business.

Sep 8, 2016 1:24 PM in response to hotkeyz69by strawberry cake heaven,There is even a video about this here: https://youtu.be/i75t7Q7jxV0 can someone please get a solution. This is really painfully slow for an Apple product! It usually happened on the 2dn Editor
So Editor 1 edits and its fine. Then the second person that comes along to edit the edits is where it is way too slow...
