iCal events keep reverting to 'new event'

Hello all,

I recently upgraded to OS X Mavericks. My iCal keeps having the same problem. I create a new event and fill out the text box. However, after a few minutes the iCal event is still visible, but my text has revereted back to the default 'new event' text box. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can change this please?! This happens across personal 'calendar' accounts, as well as shared. Your urgent help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Kacper

kacperfromgbr,

Go to Calendar>Preferences...>Accounts>and experiment with changing the "Refresh Calendars:" interval.

I never had this problem before I changed to mavericks

I even did not show up for a meeting because my calender did not show this meeting anymore.

some events just vanish and leave a "new event" only

I changed from push to 5 minutes update already, but this did not help

My connectivity seems to be OK as far as I can see.

Thanks for helping

I have a hint:

console messages say

06.12.13 01:39:27,444CalendarAgent[298][com.apple.calendar.store.log.caldav.mismatch] [During deep refresh in calendar "Dienstreise", had collection tag match, but etag mismatch for url https://p01-caldav.icloud.com/552798693/calendars/955F3771-C490-4658-BDEE-FA4C15 2608B5/37089EF8-D63C-4F0A-9042-003B3DD7C87A.ics: server resource not present locally - cTag:(null) syncToken:FT=-@RU=19e9b5e8-d808-47a1-9b37-6a4a618c0193@S=2052]

and for another lost Event

06.12.13 01:39:40,500CalendarAgent[298][com.apple.calendar.store.log.caldav.queue] [Event gegen xyz absichern has out of date eTag! Will not PUT. Reverting from server.]

so something with eTag (I don't know what that is) seems to be important

Thanks for your help. I'm running Yosemite, and I found that edits to events were reverting to the original when I closed the event window, but sporadically without any particular pattern. As you suggested, I used refresh and selected the option to open events in a separate window, which they already were. I then noticed that when I made an edit that the "apply" button appeared, which I now click after every edit, but this button did no always appear previously. My guess is that Apple's brilliant engineers are not using the products they design. Thanks again!
