Arabic text copy paste

Hi,

I am having problems in paste arabic text in final cut pro x.

The text is in text edit, I copy it and I can paste it everywhere: safari, word, photoshop... but not in FCPX.

I need to copy and paste for arabic subtitles and titles. By chance the first time I tried it worked fine, but after that everytime I try to paste the text FCPX doesn't respond.

Any idea?

Thanks,

P

It seems to be the same problem.

What sounds strange is that the first time I copied and pasted the text it worked fine. Then it stopped working.

It also sounds strange that nobody had the same problem before actually. I checked around in different forums and somebody had the problem with Thai, as reported in your post, but not with arabic..

Please let me know if you will have ideas / solutions.

Thank you

P

In a short text I did on my mac, it seems to work (not knowing Arabic, I just used google translate to translate "good morning"). I was able to paste into FCP X. There may be a font problem or a title problem. Did you try with different titles?

I seem to remember from previous discussions here that the problem occured with Thai and Tamil, but apparently only some characters "refused" to paste.

This is a soundbite:

Again, please try to cut and paste more than one time because here and there randomly it works.

Thank you

Is there a particular text type you're using? I haven't been able to make it fail using basic text.

Wait. Yes, I have.

The problem seems to be in the copy function. Some sections will just not copy and paste and a different section or selection will copy and paste without problem. There is also something strange in the way the text selection is made before copying, which might have something to do with it.
