OK so I think I have figured this out. The individual sights now have a little pin or x available on the top right hand side of the box. To activate this you need to hold down the control button while moving your arrow over the individual top site box. (It seems this has replaced the edit button on the bottom left of the page) You can now use this to choose to make a top site permanent so that you don't lose it. Or click on the x to delete it.
Hi
This a rather old post, and there is no mention of which O SX is being used. That being said, in Yosemite if you open Safari, click on History-> Show Top Sites, hover over a site you wish to delete, and an X should show up in the upper left corner of that site. Click the X and site should be deleted.
Hope this helps
There is a easy way to add a top site. Simply click on the curved arrow button, that sits between the cloud and the plus sign at the top of your page. From the drop down menue click "add bookmark", from there click "top site".
Maybe you or someone can help me. I know how to remove sites from my top sites but the only way they said I can add one by pushing the edit button first. How do you add a site to Topsites page.
Since I upgraded to Safari 6, there is no longer an EDIT button on the Top Sites. Anybody have any ideas?
For top sites try hovering your cursor over the site icon, and click the X.
Also in the Safari menu bar, Bookmarks>edit Bookmarks
Thanks Sanjampet, but I want to EDIT the number of Top Sites I see. I need the edit button that used to appear to do so.
Same problem, want to remove sites from top site. No edit button. Have tried suggested methods above but none work.
This seems crazy.
