Cannon on i9900 Printer Driver

Just got a new iMac running Mavericks. Canon doest not offer a driver for Mavericks. When I click software update with the canon connected there is no listing! What must I do to get the printer going.

Thanks,

Harris

Maybe I didn't drill down far enough on that site. I actually followed the link from Carolyn's post above, but didn't actually attempt a download. As a side note, I recently installed Mavericks, and didn't require any additional drivers or software of any kind for my Canon Pro9000.

I'll double check the link in my Mac as opposed to my iPad.

Update: There was a driver update available for my Pro9000, but my MP830 Multi-Function gave the exact message that you received. This would indicate that the required driver for the i9900 is indeed included with Mavericks.

Have you had issues when trying to use the printer?

I went to the link but it says there are no drivers for Mav.

Beg your pardon, the v10.9 Mavericks compatible driver is available...

Download the driver.

Then open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > Print. Then click ➕ to add the printer.

The last driver Canon released for this model was for 10.6. There is a chance that you can install this driver but as it is not digitally signed, meaning that Gatekeeper will block the installation by default, you will need to hold down the Control key and click on the driver installer. A po-up window will appear. Select Open and you will now be given the option to install the 10.6 driver. If the installer still fails to complete or let you add the i9900 as a printer, then you can look at Gutenprint v5.2.9 or PrintFab.
