Q: Late 2013 Macbook Pro Retina 13'' Wifi Issues

My new MBPR's wifi is very slow and constantly drops the connection, although it is showing that it is always connected. If I restart the computer it fixes the problem for a little bit then it starts again. I have a 2012 Macbook Pro on the same network with no isseues, and I will have to use it sometimes just to be able to browse the web. Is there any way to fix the issue on the new Macbook?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9)

    strange

for me the problem with ping is resolved - very stable, no interruptions on both of my rMBPs (10.9.1 on both - ping was terrible)

so it hasnt changed since the 10.9.2.beta2. I rolled back to the original Mavericks driver because the beta made things worse for me. Not looking forward to 10.9.2 after hearing that.

Also seeing how well the wifi can perform under Windows makes this even more sad for me.

    @am2am2am

could you please post your firmware version? maybe firmware wasn't replaced correctly in my case cause of heavy modifications and testing during experiments on fixing this issues

    I have the same firmware:

    Firmware Version:          Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (6.30.223.154.63)

I participated in appleseeds - had also problems with earlier beta versions - decided to delete all my wifi locations/preferences and create wifi profile from the scratch.

Since that time no wifi problems, no ping problems on 10.9.2.

So those of you who have high ping or connection issues after installing 10.9.2 -- is bluetooth enabled? I'm currently using an external wifi usb adapter which works like a charm -- constant ping, no timeouts. It has to be sth. to do with wifi / bluetooth interferences, i guess.

and regarding: 'issue is solved after installing the newest wifi firmware'

    Firmware Version:          Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (6.30.223.154.63) > still a lot of problems

Haven't tested sans bluetooth with 10.9.2 (I'm working with an external display and keyboard/trackpad), but with 10.9.1, bluetooth on/off made no difference: wifi was poor either way.

After installation of 10.9.2 from App store the ping is stable on 2.4 Ghz wifi network but unfortunately is still unstable with lost packages on 5 Ghz wifi network. I am using Netgear dualband router.

Bluetooth has never been enabled on mine. The latency problem is only on 5Ghz band when all channels could not be aggregate.

If i place the MRB just in front the Airport Extreme and the rate reach 1.3Ghz, the ping is perfect.

No good here. Router ping times for my 4 week old MB Retina Pro are all over the place, and download speeds half either the cheapo Windows box or my Nexus 5.

Perhaps I spoke too soon. Turned wifi off, deleted preferred network list, re-connected. Since then, my wifi has been more stable than at any time since I first bought the MB (a month ago). Ping times (to router) are still more scattered than any of my other devices, but there have been no real-world symptoms (ie. actual download speeds or perceived latency) since deleting the preferred networks. And even looking at the pings, there are none of the extraordinarily long ones (hundreds of ms) that had been occurring before the update.

I'll reserve judgement for a couple of days, but things are looking better right now.

What's your Broadcom firmware version now? Post-update, on my 2013 Retina MB Pro, mine is 6.30.223.154.63

I think the problem is resolved after installing 10.9.2.

Ping is ok, no latency, and there is no issue anymore after sleep-modus.

    Bluetooth is also enabled.

Mine is: Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (6.30.223.154.63) after Update yesterday to 10.9.2, but i think its the same Version as in the Wifi-Fix a few weeks ago, right!? Does 10.9.2 have this Driver included? Or didnt the 10.9.2 update replace the driver from Wifi-Fix?

That's the same version as mine (post 10.9.2 install), and I never installed the beta.
