Why did iTunes 11.1.3 empty all my playlists?

After upgrading to iTunes 11.1.3 yesterday, I had a major crash in Mavericks.

Once back up, all my playlists are empty.

I tried the trick explained in this post (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4563124)

but it did not work... any other ideas?

Works fine for me... I've just restored a test library back to its most recent previous version from 2013-10-28. 😕

Admittedly I was testing in Windows but I don't see why there should be a difference. Have you tried restoring an older file or a Time Machine backup?

Thanks tt2,

I've tried restoring from my previous iTunes Library ("iTunes Library 2013-11-06.itl" --- and renaming the file, of course) and my backup playlist file ("iTunes Music Library.xml")... nothing works.

In fact, importing my playlists makes duplicates of all my playlists... and all EMPTY.!!

iTunes 11.1.3 has really messed up my music library... which I use for business purposes every day. Serious setback for me. 😠

*Edit* -- not to mention I can't connect my iPhone 5 to update mp3s and voice memos in fear of losing them.

Why did iTunes 11.1.3 empty all my playlists?
