It's possible to count sum for the whole column, but numbers use header for these calculations and I have text there (surprise!). You can also set first and last cells in a column, but you'll have to fix formulas if the column length changes. I wonder if there's a workaround, link to the last cell in a column could help, for example.

Are you aware that you can have up to 5 Header Rows and 5 Footer Rows in a Table?

Numbers will not include header (or footer) rows (or columns) in a sum:
In this example, row 1 is a header and row 10 is a footer. If the sum is including the irst row then you may have forgotten to change the first row to a header.
