Q: Upgrade from 10.6 server to 10.9 server

I know I can upgrade from 10.6 to 10.9 Server.

But is / are there any step-by-step guides on how I first upgrade to 10.9 (Mavericks) for free (all the while keeping my server settings from 10.6).

Then after upgrading to Mavericks desktop for free, how I then add the 10.9 server software on top of it, and hopefully it taking all of the settings from the old 10.6 server along with it.

Mac OS X (10.6.8)

    I am migrating from 10.6.8 server (on an existing box) to Mavericks Server on a new box.

     

    The first step in the migration procedures is to install Mountain Lion.  It looks like that statement may not have been updated corectly after Mavericks release.

     

    Can someone pls confirm...

     

    Does the for migrating servers need to be 10.6 > Mountain Lion > Mavericks or can it be simply 10.6 > Mavericks?

    I've downloaded Mavericks on the computer that hosts my Time Machine and Server and am wondering if I need to do the Migration Assistant before I upgrade to Mavericks server or if I can just install the new server app and it will automatically import all of the information from my Time Machine/previous version of the server app.  The link you provided just didn't really provide me with enough information - if I install Mavericks server will it wipe my Time Machine clean and that's why I need to back it up via the Migration Assistant first???
