Nov 7, 2013 12:10 PM in response to radahartmannby arthur,★HelpfulYour problem is not enough RAM.
Apple says the recommended minimum of RAM for Mavericks is 2 GB. It will run with 2, it just won't run well.
As you can see, you've only got 46 MB free when your computer is basically just sitting there.
4 GB is a more realistic minimum. I have 8 in my MBP 8,2, with a SSD, and it's fast. No beachballs.
You don't have a huge number of plugins and launch items, compared to some people who post here, but you could get rid of a number of them. Always good to remove software you don't need. For example, the AdobePDFviewer plugin. You don't need it, Safari opens PDFs just fine without it.
And MacKeeper is a definite problem. The king of Crapware. It should be called MacCrapper. I'd try to get rid of it. You don't need that either. Could be slowing things down.

Nov 7, 2013 1:45 PM in response to arthurby radahartmann,Thanks alot.
I have another MacBook with 8GB wich had the same problem though!
I just downgrated away from Mavericks and its fine again! So once I will be back and the problem is still there I will just ask for help then!

Nov 24, 2013 7:46 PM in response to radahartmannby davidnajeradj,This solve the problem for me.
1. Go to About this mac under the apple in the upper left and click on More info
2. Click on system report
3. make a note of what it says after Model Identifier
4. go to your master drive – System -Library – Extensions – IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext -Contents – Plugins – ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext – Contents – Resources – find the name from step 3 and move it to a folder that you can find again if needed.
3. Restart and you’re done
I hope this helps.

Suggestions:
I think your problem is that you have a lot of junk on your computer. Your mac is spending so much time monitoring and cleaning and optimizing itself that it's a wonder it actually works at all.
You have Crapware: crapware is stuff like "cleaners", "optimizers", and "defragmenters". In your case: MacCleanse, CleanMyMac, CleanMyDrive, and on and on. This stuff is all unnecessary, poorly written, often impossible to uninstall, and can damage your OS. Macs have maintainence software already built in that works very well.
Next, you have a huge amount of stuff, minor apps and haxies, that really seem.... unnecessary. They are modifying your OS rather than actually doing something useful. But they are all running, all the time, in the background. No wonder it's so slow. I've learned to avoid all that stuff. But, that's up to you. You don't have that much RAM to work with. You can't afford to have all this stuff running.
What follows is my usual set of suggestions for trying to individually remove these things, but in your case, if it were me, I'd cut to the chase and just do a clean install and not reinstall all that junk. It would be much more straightforward, and CleanMyMac (which should really be called TakeABigShitOnMyMac) has probably damaged your OS anyway.
(First, make sure you have a good backup.
What to do about the items in green:
The items in green are third party software that may be a problem. They run all the time in the background, and thus may be making things slow. You can test this theory: try a safe boot (restart, hold down shift until you see the Apple logo). A safe boot does some diagnostic checking and then starts up without third party added-on software. If this eliminates the symptoms, then you know the problem is with a third-party item. Mac OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?
I don't know if the green ones are a problem or not, but they are on the list of suspects, and you're going to need to do some research yourself.
The general philosophy is:
Figure out what the application is that is responsible for a particular green item.
If you can live without the application, it, uninstall it. You should uninstall the entire application that is responsible. The best way is with an uninstaller from the developer of the application. If there's no uninstaller (one of the hallmarks of crapware), then an internet search may help (as in, "uninstall crapapp mac", where crapapp is the name of the software in question). After uninstalling the app, restart, reassess your Mac's performance, and run Etrecheck again. I am a fan of AppZapper for uninstalling apps, if there is no uninstaller from the developer. AppZapper - The uninstaller Apple forgot.
Sometimes, after you have run an uninstaller or manually uninstalled a suspect application, one of those green bits will still be on the Etrecheck report. If your Mac's symptoms have resolved, it's better to leave well enough alone and leave it there. If you must, you can try a modified Finder search to find the stubborn green bit and remove it. These system files do not show up in a normal Finder or Spotlight search.
If you can't live without this app, then at least make sure it is up to date and compatible with Mavericks. If not, consider a replacement that is.
What to do about the items in red
These are definite problems and should be fixed if they are Apple software. They should be fixed or uninstalled if they are third party developer software.
For red Apple items, I would try:
repairing your hd. Boot into your recovery partition (restart, hold down ⌘R until you see the Apple logo), and use Disk Utility to repair your hard drive. Repair permissions too while you're there. OS X: About OS X Recovery
Then restart, reassess performance, and rerun Etrecheck.
If that doesn't work, I'd try Techtool, which can occasionally fix something that disk utility can't. Techtool Pro 7
Then restart, reassess performance, and rerun Etrecheck.
If that doesn't work, I'd reinstall Mavericks over your current installation. Restart, reassess, and re-Etrecheck.
If that doesn't work, you're looking at the nuclear option: backup your documents, erase your HD, and do a clean reinstall of Mavericks.
For red non-apple software, I'd uninstall it and then recheck with Etrecheck. Then if you must reinstall it, make sure it's up to date and compatible with Mavericks.)

Dec 11, 2013 9:50 AM in response to arthurby JupaMan,Hi Arthur,
you are a god-sent. Thank you so much for taking a look at this and letting me know what some of theissues were. I truly appreciate it.
I did work on the computer for a little bit from a "guest" account and safari actually worked quite well and so did the rest of the computer. I don't have all that crap available for the guest user, so now I really have to clean house.
I had installed the fan control app because after upgrading to mavericks, my internal fans stopped working and I was concerned that my computer was going to blow up. Even my girlfriend would come into the office and asked me what was on fire. Two days later I figured out that the computer was super hot and very quiet. So I installed the fan control to kickstar the fans.
Everything else I don't relly care to have in my computer. Some of those items you highlighed are actually items I no longer have installed in my computer, so now I just have to figure out how to get rid of it.
I do have good backups, my only concern is my settings and files i've worked with in final cut pro X. That's my livelyhood right there. if I can fix this without installing everything from scratch I would be happy. However as long as my video files are backed up, I won't care starting from scratch.
Thanks so much for your assitance and guiding me in the right direction. I have saved your suggestions to pages to use as a guideline. I'll let you know of my progress.
Damian

Dec 16, 2013 8:57 PM in response to arthurby Pooomba,Hi there I too am going crazy trying to get my mac working properly. If you have the time to have a quick look and advise any obvious things It would save my sanity. My report won't paste here must be too big. Is there any way I can attach it as a pdf or similar?

Dec 22, 2013 3:51 PM in response to davidnajeradjby Readydave,I'm knocking on wood right now, but this (davidnajeradj's post) seems to have fixed it for me. I've got an Early 2011 MBP w/ i7 CPU, 8GB RAM, and SSD. It started having problems about a week ago out of the blue with that kernel process hogging up the CPU so bad that it made it unusable. I went the recovery route and reinstalled Mavericks, but that didn't help. My next step was going to be to manually pull off my data and then figure out how to do a full wipe and reload from scratch.
Hopefully this fixes it for good. If not, I'll post a follow up later. So what, exactly, does this file do?
Thanks for the help!
Dave
