Macbook Air Trackpad durability & experience

Hey Guys,

Does anyone know anything about or have experiences with the durability of the glass trackpad on the Macbook? Is it durable enough for occasional user impacts and heavy usage?

This afternoon, I was typing and i dropped something on the floor, as i reached to grab it in a hurry, my 4 fingers impacted the trackpad and the aluminium unibody on the right of the trackpad.

There was a loud audible sound and i felt that my fingernails scrapped across the trackpad. However, after which, i checked and the trackpad was working perfectly fine and no scratches/dents whatsoever.

But i am really unsure as to whether this one-time impact will cause problems to my trackpad in future.

Any comments relating to experiences with the trackpad and its durability is very much welcomed

Thanks!

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9)
