Keychain Fails to Fill In Login Details

I have for the first time used Keychain iCloud for web pages.

While signing up for the web page, I allowed keychain to select the password.

I'm at another computer, the keychain information has been copied to this computer through clod. But when I navigate to the same page, Keychain does not fill in or offer to fill in the login details.

Anyone know what gives?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7)

Hi mick2001,

Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.

If iCloud Keychain isn't filling in the passwords on web sites, make sure you've checked these settings:

iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Keychain

http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4644

Safari isn't automatically filling in account names and passwords on some web sites.

Devices using iOS 7.0.3 or later:

  1. Tap Settings> Safari> Passwords & AutoFill.
  2. Make sure Names and Passwords is turned on.
  3. Turn on Always Allow.

Macs using OS X Mavericks v10.9 or later:

  1. Go to Safari > Preferences.
  2. In the Passwords pane, make sure that “AutoFill user names and passwords”is enabled. If not, go to the AutoFill pane and enable it.
  3. Select “Always AutoFill even for websites that request passwords not be saved”.

Best Regards,

Jeremy

Thanks for the answer.

This is really far too much trouble for something that should "just work". I had checked these setting previously and one of the unintentional changes was a lockdown of my computer, which I don't need to do at home. And still, it doesn't work.

I have opted for a separate program, which, while not perfect, is far simpler to use.

Nothing simply 'Just Works'. You need to set up devices to suit your own workflow. Apple can mot cater individually to settings required by each of the many millions of users. You do have to do a small amount of work yourself.😉

Good Luck
