Q: Making comments visible in track changes -pages app

How do you make comments visible in track changes. I need to convert file to PDF to send on with comments on view but each time I export to PDF the comments disappear. Before the mavericks update, I used to ba able to show the comments down the side of the text and then export it as a PDF and send on for viewing. Now the comments are only visible in pages and ONLY if you click on the little (very little) spot. Not everyone works on a mac and I need to send the document on to multiple people. Any advice? It is OS X version 10.9 system working with Pages version 5.0 (1465).

Pages, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

Your problem isn't the Mavericks update. Your problem is the new version of Pages that was released around the same time. Pages 2013 has a lot of changes that have made a lot of users angry.

If you fire up Pages 2009 (still present in your iWork09 folder, in Applications), you'll see that it still presents comments in the margins of the page, meaning that you can print them to .pdf just like you want.

Any pages files that you've saved in the 2013 format will have to be exported to Pages 2009 format (Export command in the File menu). Then the exported file will have to be dragged into Pages 2009 (or control-click and Open With). That's a bit of a pain, so if you have a lot of pages files with comments, you may want to uninstall Pages 2013 (the version of the app that isn't in the iWork09 folder).

Apple's announced that updates to Pages will restore many lost features. Whether that includes comments that are visible on printing is anyone's guess.
