iTune not working on Windows 8.1

Hi

I've gone through all the previous threads and tried a few fixes that worked for other, nothing seems to be working.

I'm running Windows 8.1, my itunes keeps crashing. I'm trying to re-install itunes - hoping this would sort the issue. Unfortuantely Install doesn't complete, givign me error 2715....which I have no idea what this means

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Other OS, Windows 8.1

Hello frances219,

Thank you for providing the details of when iTunes quitting unexpectedly. Currently, it sounds like you are not able to install iTunes. I recommend following the steps in this article for installation issues:

If you continue to have issues with iTunes unexpectedly quitting after reinstalling iTunes, I recommend this article:

I think for windows 8.1 updated , Itune DLL file is not matching.

Now we will have to wait for Apple to update new DLL file for Windows 8.1 update.

Hi..Apple..DEV,

Could you help to run iTunes is Windows 8.1 and later all future updates as quick as possible.

Now I cannot use my iPhone, iPad and minIpad also...

Hope to get new updated soon....

thanks,

Hold down (Ctrl & Shift keys at same time) then double click itunes icon on desktop. box will popup asking to disable addons, click agree. this should solve problem until Apple corrects problem with next update.

This is what I have been doing to add music from PC to Iphone. I already deleted all addons but problem still persist.

Enjoy

Hi Varatha_Rajan,

The newest iTunes won't work unless iTunes and supporting applications are completely uninstalled first.

After you have uninstalled everything Apple tells you to (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923) using the uninstall feature in the Control Panel, these are the folders you need to manually delete the contents of:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support (if it exists)

You have to delete the contents of the Mobile Device Support folders before you can delete the Mobile Device Support folders or you will get an error message.

If you don't have the Mobile Device Support folder in either location, reboot and try to install the software. This has worked for lots of people so far. I hope it works for you, too.
