Mavericks: Download in download folder on the dock will not finish

When I download an item, doesn't matter what type, the download icon in my dock says it is still downloading. Of course the dowload has finished several minutes/hours ago. Is there something I'm missing or is this a bug?

Strange, I would try to remove that Downloads folder from the dock, then put it back there again from the Finder.

Maybe it will help if you "Refresh" the icon that way.
