installation of XCode 3.2.6 crash OS X Mavericks

Hi, I needed to install older version of XCode (3.2.6) on my Mavericks. At the end of the installation process (progress bar about 95%) I got grey screen of death. Reboot porcess is also failed, because I'm getting kind of "kernel panic" messages on screen. After re-installing OSX Mavericks my MacBook Pro started sucessfully, without XCode of course.

Have anybody encountered this or similar problems? I tried it on two MacBook Pro's and result was the same.

P.S. Apple, would you like to test compatibility of mpkg packages more carefully? 😠

Xcode 3.2.6 installs kernel extensions intended for Snow Leopard (10.6.n). No Apple's fault you are installing this where it was never intended. Maverick go boom.

You may also find that the Xcode 3.2.6 binaries, compiled for a much older execution environment, may not work on Mavericks.

If you absolutely need Xcode 3.2.6, find a copy of Snow Leopard and install both on compatible hardware. Then, you will have the ideal environment for this combination.
