Q: Maverick freezes

At occasions the new Maverick OS seem to freeze.
All was perfectly ok before the upgrade.
Since I work as a computer technician and have a lot of programs installed it migth be so that Maverick is trying stuff it should'nt bother about.

I dont know really why it just freezes and it does not confine to just some special app.

Many times during the day keyboard input just freezes and I have to wait until text is updated.
However keyboard buffer seem to work so if I keep on typing command and text comes after freeze releases.

Just adding in my info so Apple knows that many people are experiencing this same issue. Not having displays with seperate spaces is quite annoying after using the feature (when it works).

What's interesting for me is that WindowServer finds 3 displays, even though I'm only using the internal and a single external monitor:

    5/2/14 10:03:29.354 AM WindowServer[107]: Found 29 modes for display 0x04280600 [18, 11]

    5/2/14 10:03:29.371 AM WindowServer[107]: Found 1 modes for display 0x003f003d [1, 0]

    5/2/14 10:03:29.374 AM WindowServer[107]: Found 54 modes for display 0x003f003e [32, 16]

This occurs for me when plugging back into my external monitor after having my MBP disconnected from it.

I have had three of these Maverick freezes on 10.9.3. All occured while browsing in Firefox 29.0.1. On the last one, the system log file just before the freeze was:

    29/05/14 22:08:09.243 firefox[8511]: CGSCopyDisplayUUID: Invalid display 0x18d48941

    29/05/14 22:08:09.410 firefox[8511]: CGSCopyDisplayUUID: Invalid display 0x18d48941

    29/05/14 22:08:09.412 firefox[8511]: CGSCopyDisplayUUID: Invalid display 0x18d48941

    ... x 20 same entries

    29/05/14 22:13:11.982 firefox[8511]: CGSCopyDisplayUUID: Invalid display 0x18d48941

    29/05/14 22:13:11.984 firefox[8511]: CGSCopyDisplayUUID: Invalid display 0x18d48941

    29/05/14 22:13:11.985 firefox[8511]: CGSCopyDisplayUUID: Invalid display 0x18d48941

    29/05/14 22:13:12.929 firefox[8511]: CGSCopyDisplayUUID: Invalid display 0x18d48941

    29/05/14 22:13:13.031 firefox[8511]: CGSCopyDisplayUUID: Invalid display 0x18d48941

    29/05/14 22:19:20.000 bootlog[0]: BOOT_TIME 1401358760 0

    ... boot up

I have unchecked the Displays with separate spaces and hope that cures it for the timebeing until Apple get a fix out.

I'm getting the same thing with 10.9.3 on a 3.33 imac Intel Core 2 duo. Never had crashing problems at all up to now. Freezing up and crashing at least once a day requiring multiple restarts before the video display comes alive again and I can log back in.

Is thisrelated to graphics related? Happens when I'm watching or working with video in particular.

    Is this article relevant?

    http://9to5mac.com/2014/05/21/os-x-10-9-3-breaking-mac-pro-graphics-card-compati bility-with-critical-pro-apps/

Sometimes after a restart, it will give me reinstall and disk utility options. I go through the disk utility and there are no issues.

Sometimes it won't recognize the bluetooth mouse or keyboard after a restart.

Cannot access diagnostics from restart. While holding D on restart, just getting a white screen.

I have been running my Macbook Air with EFI Firmware Update 2.8 installed (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1749) for the last 4 days with Displays with separate spaces enabled. So far, no more freezes.

I got 4 freezes today while using Safari and Sparrow. I was connected via thunderbolt to an external screen. Never had any issues before.

The consol log shows this error: 21.07.14 16:37:00.454 Safari[467]: CGSCopyDisplayUUID: Invalid display 0x18f88983
