Garageband Update not working

Hi everyone,

so a few weeks ago when Apple released the new Mavericks the also released the major Garageband update. It won't let me use garageband until I update it so I opened the app to the new download screen and for the past day it has been constantly "installing" the new update. The install bar has been in the same place for over 24hrs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!
