My iPad Mini is expanding/warping. What do I do?

Today I was using my iPad and all of sudden it just starts expanding outward in my hands. It stopped expanding after 5 minutes but just to be safe I turned it off. The entire iPad is shaped like an outward parenthsis ) or a boomarang. I don't have AppleCare but I did purchase this iPad under a year ago. Should I return it to a store or call Apple?

Take it in to an Apple Store ASAP. This sounds like the battery went bad and is now bloating (they are made specifically to do this if it goes bad for some reason), pushing the iPad apart. They should exchange it on the spot under warranty. Be sure and take everything in that came in the box...iPad, Lightning cable and the charger as well. They may need to verify everything.
