low battery, sad icon, disc mode doesn't work,

My ipod classic 80Gb, appear Low Battary and does not charging, i've had give him new battery, low battery lasts, and then it appears apple logo but screen is dark, after that it appears sad icon and screen now light, when i try get it into disk mode appers sad icon again. Somebody help...
