Aperture Hot Folder Issues

I don't think it has worked well -- or been updated -- in some time.

You can easily create a "hot folder" using an Automator Action. This post and the others in the thread explain how.

That shouldn't happen.

If you can;t egt that worked out post a screen shot of the Automator workflow so we can see if there is anything in it that looks like it might be causing a problem.

Thank you, I saw the Automator solution, I've created a folder-action but the main reason I used the Hot Folder action app was because it asked me which project to import the images to. Is there a way to add a dialog in Automator so I can tell it which project in Aperture to add the images to as I'm about to batch drop images into the folder?

Yes check the Show this action when the workflow runs box. That should do what you want/ Post back if it doesn't

That worked thanks, but as I exported 9 images from Lightroom it stopped to ask me about 4 times where I wanted to put them, is there a way to add a time delay to the folder action that way I can make sure Lightroom finishes exporting before I'm asked where to put them?

Got it, I found the "Pause" action

After posting that and thinking about your situation I was afraid that what you are seeing would happen.

There is no easy fix from the script side, no way to delay the script wile it waits for all the file to be written to the folder being monitored.

The easiest way to work around this is at the Aperture end. Have all images imported by this workflow go into one holding project, say importsWaitingForFinal (or whatever you want) and then move them from there in Aperture to their final destination project.

If you described your workflow in more detail a different solution might be suggested.

I also suggest you start a new thread for this, you're likely to get a wider audience for the post.
