Q: Touch ID not working when iPhone goes to sleep with Twitter is the active app

Hi,

When my iPhone goes in sleep mode with Twitter being launch and being the active app on the creen, then Touch ID does not recognize any finger print and keeps asking "Try again" and the only way to unlock the iPhone is to type the code. Anyone noticed the same pbm?

Cheers,

Olivier

Was also having this issue. Touch ID failed at least 50 times for me and every single time, Twitter was the app running. Note that it didn't fail every time I sleep the device with twitter.app running, but it was always twitter running when it did fail. I noticed that if I wake the device, wait until the slide to unlock message appears before applying my finger to touch id, it seemed much more likely to work, but once it has failed, letting it sleep and trying with patience again doesn't work. You just had to enter your passcode manually... like an animal.

Taking the advice given here by spacemarine288, I deleted the twitter app, restarted (probably unnecessary), reinstalled it. Seems to have fixed it. Yay!

Unfortunately uninstalling the Official Twitter app and reinstalling it never works for me.  I have periodically downloaded the official Twitter app when they have updated it in the hopes they fixed the issue, but within 30 minutes or so of installing it Touch ID fails. I deleted the official Twitter app and I  have been running another Twitter client (Twittelator Neue) for the past month or so and have never had a single TouchID issue since.

As of iOS 7.1 beta 2, the issue has been fixed. I'm testing the beta releases and I can confirm that on iOS 7.1 beta 2 they fixed the problem. Wait for the public release !

That's excellent news! I will wait for 7.1 to be released.

Good to hear. Tired of hearing how "that's impossible". I can reproduce it and can go 2 weeks without the issue when not using Twitter app.

Funny, I'd gone back to Tweetbot and had forgotten about this but tried the new twitter yesterday and after the first lock, it wouldn't acknowledge a finger on the sensor. Definitely the twitter app doing it. I also noticed that my home button wouldn't work at all for about 5 presses when the twitter app was active. Finally did, killed the app and has been fine since.

Been having the same issue, Twitter is the only cause. I noticed any other home button gestures (siri, multitasking) will not work either in the Twitter app until I close out of it with a single home press.

IOS 7.1 is out. Installed fine. So far after 10 or so attempts, TID unlock works after a 1 minute screen lock with Twitter (NOT latest 6.2.1, maybe one version back) active.

I have though seen 2 Twitter "restarts" after the unlock, but was very quick...

    Fingers crossed.

Like I said previously, iOS 7.1 fixes this completely.

So everyone go get your updates!!

    Cheers!
