Nov 9, 2013 9:08 AM in response to Andy Mooreby John Blanchard1,Is it the same filter failure as shown here:

What kind if Epson? Have you updated the drivers if the printer is supported? Does it happen from all apps?

Feb 3, 2014 2:31 PM in response to Andy Mooreby eggiebirdie,I had the 'Filter Failure' problem too (on my Epson PX730WD).
Tried everything but nothing helped.
then I noted that I could print from Word but not from Adobe Reader (pdf).
My problem was that Ghostscript (postscript / pdf interpreter software) apparently was broken.
http://www.ghostscript.com/download/
does not provide installers for Mac OSx (just sources)
With google, I found
http://pages.uoregon.edu/koch/
and
http://www.bestfreewaredownload.com/download/t-free-ghostscript-for-mac-os-x-fre eware-hlidifhu.html
that provided packages for Mac OSx (Mavericks in my case).
Download, Install
Problem solved!

Dec 31, 2014 3:05 AM in response to eggiebirdieby Hawklords,Okay, regarding this problem:
I'm trying to print to an Advent AW10 printer from an Imac running Yosemite 10.10.1 and it's been driving me nuts for the last two months...
I got on to Advent yesterday and recieved this instruction from their support team this morning and it worked and I'm now printing away merrily:
Please follow below steps:
In Spotlight search window type Terminal and then press Enter.
This should bring up the terminal window/program.
In the Terminal type:
sudo sh -c 'echo "Sandboxing Relaxed" >> /etc/cups/cups-files.conf' then press Enter.
It will ask for your password. Please enter system password.(You will not see password entering)
After that type following:
sudo launchctl stop org.cups.cupsd then press Enter.
Try Printing.
I don't think this is specific to Advent and is rather simply an 'opening up' of something blocking the 'printer channels' (layman's terms obviously)
Hope this helps people out!

Mar 23, 2015 2:26 AM in response to Hawklordsby yusufcom,This worked for me. Thanks! I wasn't able to print more than one copy of a document and getting filter failed error. But after following your instructions, everything is fine.

Dec 24, 2015 11:52 PM in response to Hawklordsby Ric Munro,It worked! Thank you!!
However, I've now changed printers and assume I don't need this any more. I'd like to remove/reverse this sandboxing relaxed, to reset my printer settings. Can I? how do I?
thanks!!
